The green energy market is getting ready for another 315 million euros, dedicated to self-consumption

New Renewable Energy Funding Worth 315 Million Euros

Through a new project call, the state is financing investments of 315 million euros from the Modernization Fund, to support energy self-consumption.

According to the Minister of Energy, Sebastian Burduja, this project call — through which the state supports investments in self-consumption — amounting to 315 million euros, is “the most important project call for the Romanian business environment.”

The Ministry of Energy announced that the funds can be accessed by both large and small companies planning to invest in the solar (up to 5 MW), wind, and small hydropower sectors, for the development of new energy production capacities dedicated to self-consumption.

Companies can apply between May 22 and August 22, 2025, via the electronic platform.
The state aid is granted in Romanian lei, in the form of reimbursement of eligible expenses, up to a maximum of 20 million euros per company, per investment project.
