In Romania, the rush for photovoltaics seems to be a relentless struggle on all fronts: large companies are developing or purchasing photovoltaic parks, while homeowners are installing panels to generate their own energy. Although subsidies are available, most individuals are growing impatient and choosing to invest independently, leading to an exponential increase in installations.
Amidst this landscape, a new type of organization has emerged to support renewable energy: energy communities. These associations of individuals can jointly purchase locally produced energy. Recently, we learned that authorities are preparing legislation to enable these structures to operate under specific legal norms, which is commendable, even though the implementation might face initial challenges.
From parks and houses, the discussions have now extended to investments in residential buildings, currently aimed at covering common energy consumption. Various figures are being proposed here, which some consider unrealistic. For now, the important thing is that another step forward is being taken towards energy efficiency.
We cannot complete the current "energy picture" without mentioning energy storage batteries, an extremely important topic. The government has announced support for investments in this vital area. We also applaud the fact that Transelectrica is announcing significant investments in networks.
Ultimately, the most anticipated outcome is achieving the most affordable prices for electricity and heat, alongside decarbonization and sustainability.
Don't miss the Energy Exhibition of the Year in Renewable Energy!
All the above topics can be explored and debated extensively at the Number 1 meeting place for the renewable industry in our country, the RoEnergy Romania Trade Fair, Timisoara edition, from September 25-27, 2024. Since 2010, it has annually brought together the most relevant actors in the field: companies, authorities, professional associations, academia, and the media.
So far, companies from Europe (Austria, Italy, Germany, Croatia, Poland, Romania), China, and Japan have registered. They will showcase innovative products and technologies aimed at developing successful, sustainable businesses.
In addition to the exhibition, featuring global energy leaders, parallel events will take place. These include the "How to Finance Renewables & Energy Efficiency" Conference, the free "How to Produce Your Own Electricity" Workshop, and other events we will detail in the coming weeks.
The RoEnergy Romania Trade Fair covers solar/photovoltaic energy, geothermal energy, biomass, biogas, cogeneration, micro-hydro energy, wind energy, energy storage, energy efficiency, BMS, and more.
