Premiere in Renewable Energy: 74 MW Hybrid Project
Market sources reveal that the first two months of this year marked a remarkable start for the development of green energy projects, with more than 4,400 MW of capacity having grid connection permits issued by Transelectrica. Almost every week, specialized media announces new investments in renewable energies, in addition to those targeting prosumers, whose number continues to grow steadily, with estimates indicating that Romania will reach 2,400 MW by the end of 2024.
According to TRANSELECTRICA, in the first two months of this year alone, technical connection permits were issued for projects that could connect to the national energy transmission operator's network, for a capacity of over 4,400 MW, nearly as much as Romania currently has in operation in wind and solar projects.
Moreover, a significant breakthrough in renewables has been achieved in Romania: for the first time in our country, a significant hybrid project has emerged, consisting of a mix of technologies, solar, wind, and storage batteries, with a capacity of 74 MW, valued at 500 million euros.
Our country is thus taking important steps towards becoming a regional energy hub, considering primarily the exceptional energy potential it possesses.
